Job Summary:
A Logistics Manager in the FMCG industry plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods from KCC to wholesalers and retailers. This involves overseeing various aspects of the supply chain, including transportation, budgeting, management and distribution.
Key Responsibilities:
Logistic Planning and Strategy:
• Develop and implement effective Logistic strategies to optimize costs and improve efficiency.
• Forecast demand and plan service levels to meet customer needs.
• Collaborate with warehouse and sales teams to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Transportation and Distribution:
• Select and manage transportation carriers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Optimize transportation routes and modes of transport.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any transportation issues.
Cost Control and Optimization:
• Identify cost-saving opportunities in logistics.
• Negotiate favorable rates with carriers and suppliers.
• Implement cost-effective logistics solutions.
Risk Management:
• Identify and mitigate Logistic risks, such as natural disasters, supplier failures, and transportation disruptions.
• Develop contingency plans to minimize the impact of potential disruptions.
Performance Measurement and Analysis:
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery time, order accuracy, and inventory turnover.
