Job Summary:
The Import Officer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the documentation and compliance processes related to importing wine and accessories. This role ensures all import activities comply with local regulations and company standards, including customs documentation, excise registration, label handling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders such as suppliers, forwarders, and customs brokers.
Job Description:
• Coordinate end-to-end import operations for wine and related products, including documentation, shipping, and customs clearance.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure complete and correct documentation (e.g., PI, invoice, labels, exclusive letters).
• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs broker, warehouse and internal departments to ensure accurate and timely import documentation.
• Handle regulatory compliance tasks, including excise registration, import permit applications, and label approvals.
• Manage import item product information, including product item code, barcode generation for customs broker, warehouse & inventory team.
• Collaborate with customs broker and accounting to ensure tax payments and cash cheque are processed correctly.
• Monitor and update the import status and maintain accurate records for reporting purposes to internal function.
• Support import-related marketing and sales needs by preparing product documentation such as tasting notes and high solution bottle shorts & Award.
• Request spare labels and prepare for replacements label.
• Participate in internal audits and work with customs and excise departments to ensure compliance with relevant laws.
